How Moxifloxacin Eye Drops Work?

Moxifloxacin Eye Drops has Moxifloxacin, which is a bactericidal drug that kills bacteria that cause a broad spectrum of infections. It stops a bacteria's function to replicate their genetic material (DNA), which prevents them from multiplying and eventually kills bacteria.

How To Use Moxifloxacin Eye Drops?

  • Clean your hands well with soap and water.
  • Inspect the dropper tip to ensure it is not cracked or chipped.
  • Don't touch the dropper tip to your eye or any other surface; eye drops and droppers should be sterile.
  • Tilt your head back slightly and pull the lower lid of your eye down with your index finger to create a pocket.
  • With the other hand, hold the dropper (tip down) close to the eye but do not touch it.
  • Rest the other fingers of that hand against your face.
  • Looking up, slowly squeeze the dropper so that one drop will fall into the hollow created by the lower eyelid. Release your index finger from the lower eyelid.
  • Keep your eye closed for 2 to 3 minutes and lean your head forward as if looking at the floor. Blink or squint your eyelids as little as possible.
  • Put a finger on the tear duct and gently press against it.
  • Blot any excess liquid from your face with a tissue.
  • If you are to put more than one drop in the same eye, wait at least 5 minutes before putting in the next drop. If your doctor instructed you to put Moxifloxacin Eye Drops in both eyes, repeat steps 6 through 10 above for your other eye.
  • Never wipe or rinse the dropper tip.
  • Wash your hands to get rid of any medication.
